Backstory

Ophelia's mother grew up dissatisfied with her traditional, tribal life. She fell in love with a Tia of the tribe who promised they would change things together, but once he won the Nunh title and Ophelia was born, he decided that well, maybe following traditions was a little more palatable when you're the one in charge. Ophelia's mother promptly packed up her daughter and ran off to Uldah to become a dancing girl.She had no rhythm, but she did have a knack for tailoring and cooking, and became the sort of den mother to a boardinghouse full of young dancers all eager to find themselves or make a few gil. She renamed her daughter soon after settling down, not wanting her to be tied down by a traditional name. And so Ophelia grew up raised by a village of friendly, outspoken transients, always encouraged to follow her curiosity wherever it took her.

Personality

Ophelia isn't stupid, but she is, shall we say... credulous. And gullible. Well... maybe she's a little stupid. She's never met a scam she won't fall for, and gives people the benefit of the doubt more than she should. She gets sidetracked from the main plot pretty often, loathe to abandon a task she's been assigned, even if it's the least important one available. As she adventures, a big point of character development for her is learning to trust herself, rather than listening to whoever spoke to her last.She's a genuinely positive person who likes people and adventuring. And the longer she travels, the harder she tries to keep a smile on her face, even if the situation looks grim and she meets terrible people and has horrible experiences. If she's smiling, she must be doing just fine, right? She shies away from introspection, wanting to be the sort of person who's always optimistic, the kind of person that others can believe in.She's a daydreamer and a bit of a ditz, and it's sometimes hard to tell if she's staring vacantly into space because she's having an Echo or because she's trying to figure out what to eat for dinner.

Hobbies and Interests

Jogging, training, and sparring. She's a jock.
She collects good luck charms from everywhere, for everything.
She doesn't read well or easily, but she likes to slowly work through dime novels about the Warrior of Light's adventures.
She likes learning about local legends and mysteries and believes in them wholeheartedly. If there was an Eorzean Bigfoot, she'd be his biggest fan.
